The following job specific situations are not eligible to participate in the MCOT OJT program: 

  • Intermittent seasonal positions, part-time positions (defined as less than 30 hours per week) or positions temporary in design

  • Any position whose training time is less than 160 hours according to the DOC and SVP codes

  • To fill a position which is vacant due to layoff or hiring freeze, or when there is a layoff in the same or any substantially equivalent job

  • When the employer has terminated the employment of any regular employee or otherwise reduced its workforce with the intention of filling the vacancy so created by utilizing MCOT OJT

  • Any position that is involved in religious or anti-religious activity of any kind.

  • Any position that is not expected to offer the trainee long-term permanent employment of at least one year from the date of hire.
