Economic Development \ economic development goals
- To promote Greater Jackson to the Automotive and related industries as a location for new and expanded facilities and to recruit automotive and related companies to the metro area. Implement an aggressive recruiting plan based from the results to the 2004 Automotive Study.
- To promote Greater Jackson to the Distribution/Logistics industry as a location for new and expanded facilities and to recruit distribution and related companies to the metro area. Assign a Distribution Study to a designated consultant of GJA’s choosing. Implement a recruiting strategy based on the study results.
- To actively recruit and become more flexible to meet the needs of call centers, back-office operations, corporate headquarters (national and regional), high technology enterprises, and data centers requests for information and inquiries by identifying all strengths and weaknesses in the GJA Region.
- To become more involved from a legislative standpoint and stand together as one entity to endorse or disapprove any legislation that would help or hurt the state of Mississippi specifically the Greater Jackson Region.
- To continue to recruit Site Selection Consultants and Automotive suppliers on a National level with GJA Events in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit and Greater Jackson.
- To strengthen GJA’s value by becoming a retail research center for all partners and developers in the GJA Region.
- To Develop a marketing piece to send to all existing manufactures in the GJA Region expressing the benefits and services each GJA Partner can offer them with any and all training, expansion incentives and financing needs.
- To have a strong and active support initiative for Downtown Revitalization of Jackson.
- To identify and assist with the certification of the Greater Jackson’s high potential industrial sites.
- To form a better relationship with the elected officials in the GJA Region by education them through one-on-one visits, window and facility tours, and quarterly newsletters that will have information on each partners activity throughout the Greater Jackson Region.
- To continue to examine our region’s physical boundaries and internal components, and to implement changes as deemed necessary to reflect who we are.
- To aggressively improve the national perception of the Greater Jackson area for the good of all entities.
- To aggressively promote GJA’s Mission, Goals, Objectives and successes to both our internal and external customers.
- To continue being the “One Stop Shop” for Regional Economic Development information and dissemination of this data.
